Before we launch into our subject this morning I want to say thank you to those of you who have so faithfully supported this ministry over the years. As I’ve stated several times in the past, our calling here at this point in time seems to be to reach people all around the world via the Internet. So far this year we’ve had thousands of people from over 120 different countries listening to sermons or reading material we’ve posted online, and we hope and pray that there will be some in heaven who will be able to trace their first convictions of the truth to something they read or listened to on our website, because that’s what it’s all about, and it would not be possible without your support, so thank you. It’s just as much your doing as it is mine and Cindy’s that we are able to do this work, and of course ultimately God gets all the credit and the glory, because without the Holy Spirit working upon hearts, we would just be spinning our wheels. We work because God expects us to cooperate with Him in the salvation of souls, isn’t that right? And so, let’s continue to uphold the truth for this time and pray that all our collective efforts will bear fruit to the glory of God.

Also I want to thank you for being able to support Robin who is working in the Philippines as an extension of Gospel Workers Ministry. He’s doing a good work over there and I can tell you that the people in the Philippines are much less Laodicean than they are here in America, so pray for Robin that the work he’s doing will see souls saved in God’s kingdom.

And by the way, I want to personally thank those of you who write little notes of encouragement every month when you send your tithes and offerings. It means a great deal to us to know that there are those who appreciate what we do when there are so many who would like to see us fail. God bless each one of you.

Many years ago I read a statement in the Spirit of Prophecy that says plainly that there will be another civil war in America and elsewhere in the world, and I’ll read it to you in just a minute, but I always wondered exactly how and why it would come about and how it will affect the freedoms we enjoy here in America because of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and will this civil war have anything to do with the coming national Sunday law.

Here’s what it says in Manuscript 114, 1899 you can also find it in Manuscript Releases, volume 5, pages 305, 306. This was written well after the first civil war, so there shouldn’t be any confusion that this will be the second one.

“In India, China, Russia, and the cities of America (so this is a global thing and not just something that takes place in America, but we know America will take the lead in apostasy and other nations will follow that lead. You’ve probably heard the saying that when America sneezes the world catches a cold, and this is metaphorically true. America has great influence all around the world) “In India, China, Russia, and the cities of America (and what we’re reading is a good reason to heed the council to work the cities but not live in them), thousands of men and women are dying of starvation. The monied men, because they have the power, control the market. They purchase at low rates all they can obtain, and then sell at greatly increased prices. This means starvation to the poorer classes, and will result in a civil war. (Now notice the next sentence, because it puts this civil war in the context of the coming time of trouble, and so this civil war must have something to do with bringing that about. Here’s what it says next) There will be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation.” And then Daniel 12:1 is quoted.

Here’s another quote that was written in the Review and Herald, September 3, 1895 at a church dedication in Australia, putting the time of trouble such as never was in the context of Sabbath keeping and a coming poverty as mentioned in the previous quote.

“It requires moral courage to take a position to keep the commandments of the Lord. An opposer of the truth once said that it was only weak-minded people, foolish, ignorant persons, who would turn away from the churches to keep the seventh day as the Sabbath; but a minister who had embraced the truth, replied, ‘If you think it takes weak-minded persons, just try it.’ It takes moral courage, firmness, decision, perseverance, and very much prayer to step out on the unpopular side.” (Then just a few sentences down in the article she says) “Poverty is coming upon this world, and there will be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation.”

So, there will be poverty and starvation and persecution of Sabbath keepers just before the coming time of trouble, and these things are connected to a second civil war here in America and other major countries around the world. As we put these quotes together, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to conclude that this civil war will be the result of what the monied men are doing and that it will lead somehow to a Sunday law as the time of trouble approaches, fulfilling the prophecy spoken of by the prophet Daniel.

The second civil war in America, which I believe has already begun, and I’ll explain why in just a minute, is not black versus white as in the past, but has to do with Nationalism versus Globalism. The monied men are the liberal progressive socialists and multiculturalists, or globalists, and the nationalists are in the conservative working class who are the patriotic, build the wall and put America first crowd. Make America great again, if you will.

Now just to be clear, I’m not getting involved in politics here, but I do believe we should not ignore what’s happening in politics, because Bible prophecy has much to do with how our law makers are fulfilling it. Our leading Advent pioneers had much to say about the politics of their day and kept track of what was going on as different bills were being introduced and voted on. You may recall that A. T. Jones went to congress and argued against the Blair Amendment that would have given us a Sunday law back in 1888, 1889 I believe it was, but it was defeated because of Jones’ testimony. And so, we should keep abreast of what’s happening in our fading Republic and how that might affect the outcome of what God has predicted beforehand.

The monied men believe in being citizens of the world and think that a centralized world government is the path to world peace and prosperity, and of course it’s these monied men who will then run this government, and it’s clear that the younger generation is being prepped to accept a socialistic form of government within the public-school system and especially the schools of higher learning, and of course this younger generation represents a large segment of the voting bloc. It’s just a matter now of getting them out to vote. And so, we could see things change very rapidly in this country as the battle between the globalist and nationalist ideologies escalates.

Nationalists want to see people assimilate into American culture and learn and speak English. That’s the way it used to be when people became citizens in this country, but now many want to retain their own culture and language. They want to be an American citizen with all the government benefits, but not necessarily be American. Have you noticed the packaging in stores that have multiple language instructions on the labeling? And when you make certain calls on the phone that there will be options as to what language you want to use? I don’t remember seeing this as a young person, but now you see it on nearly everything. By the way, this is how a culture changes. We see this happening little by little as people are welcomed into a country without being encouraged to assimilate within the society. England is a good example of how they have allowed many Muslims to enter their country, and now there are certain segments where Sharia Law is beginning to assert itself and certain aspects of it already allowed to be enforced.

Civil war happens when you have two opposing parties or groups that can’t get along within the same country, and this is a perfect description of what we see going on today with the Democrat and Republican parties, and this civil war is about to reach its climax, because one party refuses to accept the results of the last Presidential election. This hatred between the two parties, which extends to nearly all Americans today, is the very worst I’ve seen in my lifetime and only continues to get worse, and it’s not difficult to imagine that a civil war will be the result, and as already stated, I believe has already begun to take place.

Globalism is defined as “the operation or planning of economic and foreign policy on a global basis; a national geopolitical policy in which the entire world is regarded as the appropriate sphere for a state’s influence.” I would be shocked if you haven’t heard the terms New World Order or One World Order. This is totally against what the Bible teaches and says is going to happen, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be those who will try to bring it about, and in some degree succeed until God puts a stop to it.

Nationalism on the other hand is “loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations.” Now that doesn’t mean that Americans should think of themselves as better than those of other countries, but that their form of government and way of life is superior, and it obviously is, that’s why so many people from other counties are trying to get in, and I’m sure there are those who want to come in just to change American culture, as we just talked about.

Friends, we need to realize that America is a country that was raised up by God, and the United States Constitution is an inspired document. People came to America because they wanted a church without a pope and a state without a king. Nationalists want to protect these things and globalists want to tear them down, plain and simple. And when you begin to look at things in this light, it’s not difficult to determine which side people are on.

Globalists believe people should be able to move freely across borders and nationalists believe in border walls, and supports populism, which is support for the concerns of ordinary people rather than the global elitists, or the monied men as the prophet calls them.

For most of the 20^th century, ideological discussions and debates have centered on liberal versus conservative, the left versus the right, but as you listen to what’s happening today, it’s clear that people are beginning to change their view. The ideological divide of the 21^st century is emerging as globalism versus nationalism. Since the end of World War II, global integration and the advancing of technology have fueled a new world order centered on free trade, open borders and economies dependent on each other. In other words, goods, capital, and people should be able to move freely across borders, which is actually the meaning of globalization, and that globalization is natural and good. But the new nationalist surge that began with the Trump campaign and presidency has startled and shocked the advocates of globalism, and angered them, because it has thrown a monkey wrench into the global plans that the monied men have been trying to bring about for a long time now, and for their own financial benefit, and has put Globalism in the United States and the world as a governing ideology temporarily on hold.

The World council of churches, the United Nations, free healthcare, free education, and free this and free that, which is never free, are good examples of the globalist socialist agenda, but nationalism wants to see our Constitution and freedoms and national identity preserved and the voice of “we the people” respected, and a good work ethic, you know, people actually working for a living and not living off the government Santa Claus, and this kind of thinking is seen as the enemy of globalism, which it is, and that’s why there is such a divide in America right now. The have nots want what the haves have, and they think it’s their right to have it. No matter if you’ve worked hard and made good decisions and managed your money well, there are those who think they have the right to take it, or that the government has the right to take it and distribute it to those who don’t deserve it.

I used to think it would be the conservative Christians that would bring about a National Sunday Law, because that seemed logical to me, because the globalists couldn’t care less about worshipping on Sunday, but after considering what’s happening in America and in politics lately, it’s looking more and more like it will be the liberals and the monied men that will bring about and cause this second civil war in America that will lead to a National Sunday Law being passed, and it could very well have something to do with environmentalism and the climate change hoax that the globalists are so concerned about, because that’s their religion. In the end we know that the whole world will be in corrupt harmony against God’s commandment keeping people, and I’ll read that to you in a few minutes, but I don’t think it will be the true nationalist’s that will do it, because they want to preserve the Constitution that guarantees the free exercise of religion and that there should not be a state sponsored religion of any kind.

We’re told very clearly in Testimonies for the Church, volume 5, page 451 that every principle of our Constitution will be repudiated (that is, rejected or discarded, or just ignored, as we already see that happening), and it’s not the nationalist that wants to do that. It’s the liberal globalist and the democrat party that are doing everything they can to “fundamentally transform America,” that’s what President Obama said he wanted to do, if you recall, and he went a long way in accomplishing that goal, but President Trump has been systematically dismantling what Obama did during his eight years in office and that’s why the globalists are so upset. Another thing that’s taking place right now is the election of the next Supreme Court Justice. The Trump administration has promised to appoint judges to the bench that don’t make laws but interpret them and uphold the Constitution as written and not rewrite it. That’s a good thing, but we’ll see if that’s actually what happens in light of what we know is going to happen to our Constitution in the end.

And no matter what you might think about Donald Trump, just remember, it’s God that sets up kings and takes them down, and the Bible is clear that we should pray for and respect the position of power within our country. And here’s something else to think about, in the Spirit of Prophecy we are told that there are a few good men in leadership positions that are holding back a tide of evil, because of their positions in government, and only God knows who they are at this point. So let’s not be too quick to condemn someone that God may be using to do a work that accomplishes His will at this point in time.

Let me read you something interesting and encouraging when it looks like things are falling apart. This is from Youth Instructor, September 29, 1903, “Hundreds of years before certain nations came upon the stage of action, the Omniscient One looked down the ages, and predicted through his servants the prophets the rise and fall of the universal kingdoms. The prophet Daniel, when interpreting to the king of Babylon the dream of the great image,—an image symbolic of the kingdoms of the world,—declared to Nebuchadnezzar that his kingdom should be superseded. His greatness and power in God’s world would have their day, and a second kingdom would arise, which also would have its period of trial as to whether it would exalt the one Ruler, the only true God. (You see, that’s what God is looking for, a nation that will exalt Him and His word, and as long as they do that, they will remain in power, but when they don’t, God raises up another people to see if they will. Right now America is the dominating power in the world because it’s form of government is approved of God, but when it forces its citizens to keep a counterfeit sabbath that has been created by Rome, that’s when it’s all over for America. That’s why we’re told that national apostasy will be speedily followed by national ruin. The quote goes on) Not doing this (that is the second kingdom of Medio-Persia, not exalting the only true God), its glory would fade away, and a third kingdom would occupy its place. Proved by obedience or disobedience, this also would pass away; and a fourth, strong as iron, would subdue the nations of the world. These predictions of the Infinite One, recorded on the prophetic page and traced on the pages of history, were given to demonstrate that God is the ruling power in the affairs of this world. (Can you say amen?) He changes the times and the seasons, He removes kings and sets up kings, to fulfil His own purpose.” So take heart my friends, because God is still in control when things seem totally out of control.

Now getting back to these few good men in high government positions who are holding back a tide of evil. Let me read it to you from The Great Controversy, pages 610, 611, “So long as Jesus remains man’s intercessor in the sanctuary above, the restraining influence of the Holy Spirit is felt by rulers and people. It still controls to some extent the laws of the land. Were it not for these laws, the condition of the world would be much worse than it now is. While many of our rulers are active agents of Satan, God also has His agents among the leading men of the nation. The enemy moves upon his servants to propose measures that would greatly impede the work of God; but statesmen who fear the Lord are influenced by holy angels to oppose such propositions with unanswerable arguments. Thus a few men (a few good men) will hold in check a powerful current of evil. The opposition of the enemies of truth will be restrained that the third angel’s message may do its work. When the final warning shall be given, it will arrest the attention of these leading men through whom the Lord is now working, and some of them will accept it, and will stand with the people of God through the time of trouble.”

Can you say praise the Lord? I don’t know about you, but I’m anxious to see who these few good men are and how they will do their part as the great controversy builds to a climax. And by the way, did you notice why the enemies of truth will be restrained? It’s so the third angel’s message can do its work. That’s the whole point in these last days. That’s why the Advent movement was raised up to begin with, and if we get off of that message and become sidetracked with less important things, we are not doing what the Lord has asked us to do.

And have you been watching and listening to where the pope stands on these issues lately? The papacy clearly falls in with the globalist agenda of the open border policy, and evolution and environmentalism, and a one world order, because it wants to be the head of it, and they’ve been working toward that goal now since 1798 when Neapolitan took the pope captive. And of course, Revelation 13:3 predicts that that deadly wound will be healed, and I don’t think we will have to wait much longer for that to be fulfilled, do you? And apostate Protestantism will be right in there with the papacy to help it do its dirty work.

In order to mend the rift between the Republican and Democrat parties, and thus the rift between those who support one or the other, which is most Americans, something has to be done to bring unity where there is such division, and division that is getting worse by the day. Some crisis has to develop that will force people to put aside their differences in order to have unity in apostasy, and we know the day of worship has something to do with that, but we just don’t know the details at this point, but that doesn’t matter. If we’re on God’s side now, we will be on God’s side when the details emerge. Just make sure you are spending time in God’s word every day and live according to the light God has revealed to you and you will be safe when America becomes a persecuting force.

We hear so much in the news today about impeaching President Trump, or declaring him unfit to hold office, or invoking the 25^th Amendment to replace him with the vice President. The Democrats and globalists are willing to do anything because of their hatred of this President in order for their global socialist agenda to survive, and that’s why we see what I call America’s second civil war being played out today right before our eyes. We have a tendency to think that what the prophet has written for these last days will be fulfilled sometime in the future, but not now. But let me tell you something brothers and sisters, we are in the midst of prophecy being fulfill right now, and if we don’t have the eye salve of the Holy Spirit, we won’t see it, we just won’t see it.

In Early Writings, page 43 it says, “Satan is now using every device in this sealing time to keep the minds of God’s people from the present truth and to cause them to waver. I saw a covering that God was drawing over His people to protect them in the time of trouble (this coming time of trouble we’ve been talking about); and every soul that was decided on the truth and was pure in heart was to be covered with the covering of the Almighty.” This covering, dear friends, will not come to us by accident. We must be decided on the truth and be pure in heart and that will take some effort on our part as we cooperate with God in our own salvation. You can’t be decided on the truth unless you know the truth, and you won’t know the truth unless you read and study inspired writings and obey what they say.

Another thing you’ve heard a lot about during President Trump’s rallies, if you’ve listened to any of them, is how he has promised to drain the swamp in Washington DC, and as we think of a literal swamp where the water level is going down, what happens to all the creatures in that swamp? Well, they begin to panic because their survival is being threatened. And as the swamp continues to dry up, all those creatures get excited and begin to flipflop in the muck in an effort to survive and continue with their agenda.

And here’s another thing, the Catholic Church does not love the American Constitution, and is doing everything it can to overthrow it. Neither does the Catholic Church and the monied men like the Second Amendment that guarantees the right to bear arms. Why do you suppose that is? Do you think maybe the population could be more easily controlled if they didn’t have to worry about people defending themselves from tyranny? Just ask yourself one question; does the papacy believe in the separation of church and state, or the union of church and state? It believes in the union of church and state! But what does the 1^st amendment to the constitution say? It says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Do you think when the papacy regains its lost supremacy that it will uphold the 1^st amendment? Of course not. Why? Because she doesn’t want people to have liberty of conscience. Notice what it says in The Great Controversy, page 564, “The Constitution of the United States guarantees liberty of conscience. Nothing is dearer or more fundamental. Pope Pius IX., in his Encyclical Letter of August 15, 1854, said: ‘The absurd and erroneous doctrines or ravings in defense of liberty of conscience, are a most pestilential error—a pest, of all others, most to be dreaded in a State.’ The same pope, in his Encyclical Letter of December 8, 1864, anathematized ‘those who assert the liberty of conscience and of religious worship,’ also ‘all such as maintain that the church may not employ force.’” Has the papacy changed its view about these things over the past 150 years? I don’t think so.

On page 580 of The Great Controversy it says, “let it be remembered, it is the boast of Rome that she never changes. . . And had she but the power, she would put them in practice (that is, the principles of force and persecution) with as much vigor now as in past centuries. Let the principle once be established in the United States, that the church may employ or control the power of the State; that religious observances may be enforced by secular laws; in short, that the authority of church and State is to dominate the conscience, and the triumph of Rome in this country is assured.” Friends, the papacy is anti-constitution which puts it in the category of the globalist agenda, plain and simple.

Let’s read a little bit more from The Great Controversy, because I don’t want you to think I’m just making up things about the papacy and their global agenda and their plans to dominate the whole world. This is from page 607, “As the controversy extends into new fields and the minds of the people are called to God’s downtrodden law, Satan is astir. The power attending the message (that would be the 3^rd angel’s message) will only madden those who oppose it. The clergy (both Catholic and Protestant, and sorry to say, Adventist as well) will put forth almost superhuman efforts to shut away the light lest it should shine upon their flocks. By every means at their command they will endeavor to suppress the discussion of these vital questions. The church appeals to the strong arm of civil power, and, in this work, papists and Protestants unite. (Why would the church appeal to the strong arm of civil power? It has to be that a lot of people are beginning to question their church leaders, and that just can’t be tolerated) As the movement for Sunday enforcement becomes more bold and decided, the law will be invoked against commandment keepers. They will be threatened with fines and imprisonment, and some will be offered positions of influence, and other rewards and advantages, as inducements to renounce their faith. But their steadfast answer is: ‘Show us from the word of God our error’—the same plea that was made by Luther under similar circumstances. Those who are arraigned before the courts make a strong vindication of the truth, and some who hear them (perhaps some of those few good men we read about earlier) are led to take their stand to keep all the commandments of God. Thus light will be brought before thousands who otherwise would know nothing of these truths.”

So, we may not know how all the details will line up and what exactly will trigger a National Sunday Law, we know some things, but it seems clear enough that Globalism and Nationalism in America, and their influence around the world, will lead to, and is even now in the throes of, a second civil war, and that this war will ultimately lead to the lamb like beast of Revelation 13 speaking as a dragon.

Well, I hope I’ve given you something to think about and study about and pray about. Now is the opportune time to proclaim the 3^rd angel’s message with a loud voice as Revelation 14:9 says, and our voice is to be the loud voice of the 3^rd angel, but I fear some might be thinking that a literal angel is going to come down and do it for us. Don’t be fooled. Testimonies for the Church, volume 1, page 76 says, “I was shown that the third angel, proclaiming the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, represents the people who receive this message and raise the voice of warning to the world.”

The work is going to be finished with real people that are filled with the Holy Spirit, and we must be a part of it or we will lose our soul. America is just about ripe for the harvest and it won’t be long before God thrusts in His sickle and reaps the earth, and we don’t want to be a part of that harvest, believe me. Have you read what follows the 3^rd angel‘s message in Revelation 14:14-20 lately? The grapes of that harvest will be cast into the great winepress of the wrath of God, and we must be sealed before that time and give others the chance to be sealed with the seal of God also. We’re almost there folks. The division we see right now is the beginning of America’s second civil war, and we need to be about our Fathers business.
